Colegio San Agustin - Makati Rector, Fr. Dante M. Bendoy, mentioned plans to offer scholarships to potential students from public schools as a way to open doors for others by giving full scholarships to three to five students.
It is expected that the government will offer assistance and provide P18-20 thousand as a subsidy.
Although the financial aspects of this program are yet to be clear, Bendoy believes that it will not hinder the school from starting the program, and may even expand to academic and athletic scholarships if the funding would become stable.
Bendoy stated if there are no existing programs he will “find ways to support the needs of these scholars” by creating programs, finding benefactors, and partnering with foundations abroad.
CSA-Makati has also been actively supporting other students from public schools allowing them to continue their studies in their chosen college or university.
Previous attempts at this program have been done but never materialized.
