I spent a lot of time as a student during the pandemic figuring out my new routine. I was the type of person that tries to stay ahead of the game, and without a doubt, I can confidently say that this was not an easy task for me. Understanding myself and adjusting to this new way of life needed time and patience.

Personally, I prefer to perceive things in a positive light. However, in the midst of chaos, I can't help feeling like all of my assignments are merely busywork. I'm able to stay consistent by knowing that everyone is giving it their all. Even if there are online classes, it is not the same. Working from home is even tougher, as much as I dislike admitting it, my study habits at home are not the finest. I can easily procrastinate, so having class in bed is not the ideal option.
I can also admit that being away from my friends has been really draining, especially because I enjoy being in the company of people. I am sure a lot of other people feel the same, but there is so much technology nowadays. Although Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, Google Duo, and Netflix Party are easily accessible, they cannot replace the feeling of being in the physical presence of friends.

Though I refuse to spend the next several months of my life exhausted and stressed, there have been parts of my experience that have made it enjoyable. I used to think negatively about COVID-19 restrictions, but I've come to realize that good can come out of bad things. I've learned not to take the good things in life for granted because when they're gone, it’s only then we realize how fortunate we were. Above all, I've been reassured that with God's help, we'll get through this pandemic and everything will turn out alright in the end.
