Nearly 2000 years ago today marked the death of Saint Monica. As the "Patron of All Mothers," she is commemorated for her prayerful dedication towards the reformation of her son, Saint Augustine of Hippo. In the midst of her life crisis and spiritual trials over Augustine, she had hope, patience and perseverance - for the day her son would change. The seed of her prayers came to life when he completely abandoned his sinful life, and he was baptized afterwards. One of Saint Monica's greatest legacies is showing future generations the true picture of the unconditional and undying love of mothers. She died on August 27, which is celebrated as her feast day.
