According to the Ookla Speedtest.net’s latest analysis, the Philippines’ average internet speed increased from the original download speed of 66.55 megabits per second to 71.17 Mbps in July.
The National Telecommunications Commission says this means a 6.94% month-to-month improvement, adding to the increase in mobile internet speed that improved from 32.84 Mbps to 33.69 Mbps.
Ookla added that the Philippines is now in 17th place out of 50 countries for broadband internet speed and 23rd in mobile internet speed.
NTC reported the internet speed to President Duterte’s directive last year which emphasized the need for additional cellular towers to improve communication worldwide.
