The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation now offers COVID-19 Home Isolation Packages for mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients to free up hospital spaces and take in more critical cases.

PhilHealth President and CEO Dante Gierran said the CHIBP will be an option for patients who meet the social and clinical criteria for home quarantine and do not want to stay in a community isolation or facility; they can opt to receive health support directly from their homes.

Under this package, services such as home consultation for a minimum of 10 days, daily monitoring through teleconsultation, and provision of a home isolation kit are included.

The benefit packages are available to all Filipinos who are registered under the National Health Insurance Program, however, individuals who are not registered can still apply for the CHIBP by submitting a completed PhilHealth Member Registration Form for PIN issue upon package availability.

Only certified hospitals in regions classified as high-risk for coronavirus by the inter-agency task force on COVID-19 can apply for re-accreditation as CHIBP providers until December 2021, according to PhilHealth.

Patients who will get CHIBP should also live in regions recognized by the IATF as high-risk.

The package, which offers coverage of P5,917 per claim, also includes patient education and referral to higher-level facilities if necessary.
