FOR THE BETTER. With classes not being the same, the idea of making school experiences better hasn’t changed at all. © Destura

Our different and new school year has reached its halfway point. This new normal created a myriad of experiences and circumstances for us to learn and grow while simultaneously adapting to the world around us. There were multiple occasions where challenges were brought to us, hindering our ability to learn.

Not only did we have different problems troubling our lives, but we also had problems troubling both our minds and hearts. Sometimes, we may feel lonely or downhearted because we don’t get to see our friends and teachers, but we should remember that this pandemic will pass, and we will be able to go back to school and live normally again. To thrive despite the current nationwide and worldwide issues, we must be patient and determined. Moreover, we should keep on fighting and never surrender no matter what’s thrown our way.

The first half of the school year may have ended, but that doesn’t mean we should stop improving for the better. One way to spend our second-half is by taking care of ourselves more. This can take form in different ways, such as taking better care of our relationships with others or sleeping earlier and developing better lifestyles. We should also do our best to learn. Learning is what makes us better people, and it is what helps us improve from our past mistakes.

This year may have been a trial, but we should never forget about it. The hardships we have faced are our stepping stones for us to do good in our present and in our future. These are what we will use to be better - to do better. We should bring these memories into our second-half of the school year and continue to improve and evolve for the better. We should never forget the people who have taken care of us and are continuing to shape our future, and together we will be able to become better people with the capability to spark a change in the world, whether big or small.
