Our eyes, as described by a famous poet, Shakespeare, are the windows to our souls.

Windows make us understand what a person is feeling when we look at them. Windows see

many different things that show us the entirety of life. Windows help us observe each and

every aspect of our lives. Even during this quarantine, our valiant heroes are still striving to

make our lives easier through their abilities to understand, see and observe through their

visual powers.

After fighting numerous battles with the extreme intensity of our screens, they would need a

much-needed 6-8 hour rest; a rest in which they can take a break from the intense flare

coming from the screens of everyday technology. If not given a rest, an unpredictable enemy

will rise up and attack our eyes, leaving them with nothing but fatigue and strain. This foe

comes at unprecedented times and attacks our eyes when we need them the most. This

attacker is known as the Screen Fatigue.

Screen fatigue? Yes, this is commonly known as eye strain or Asthenopia. It is caused by

staring at any screen, radiating with blue light wherein it disrupts our circadian rhythm more

commonly known as our sleep cycles, at night when we are trying to fall asleep. It is also the

effect of staring at screens for a long period of time without blinking, that can cause dry eyes

and blurry sight and eventually, eye strain. These certain activities may damage our heroes,

so let us try to better ourselves for them. Let us limit the time we use our technology and rest

our eyes from time to time. For night owls, you can go to your gadget’s settings and find a

night shift setting, which enables the screen to emit orange light to block out any blue light

and reduce the chances of eye strain.

Let us try and be the heroes for our eyes, because protecting our eyes would be the most

heroic thing to do for the heroes who looked after us first.
